Discover God’s Vision for Your Life Through Journaling
I have no doubt God has given you a vision for your future, but it might seem impossible—or even like it’s not meant for you. I invite you to not worry about that. You will know it’s from the Lord if it stays on your mind constantly and aligns with God’s Word.
We all overthink things sometimes (it’s something I am guilty of too), but the more I pressed in, the more insight God gives me. Writing things down was an eye-opener to understand those insights for me, and I know it can be for you too.
My life has not been easy, I often think about my walk with God and life like a boxing match: life knocks me down and God is always there to help me back up. He trains us and equips us to keep going, my encouragement to you is just keep getting up, keep showing up and consider journaling as a tool to help you reach your goals.
Let’s explore how journaling can help you uncover and pursue God’s vision for your life.
A Daily Practice: Journaling Your Goals and Visions
Start by writing down the visions and goals God has shown you. Keep them simple, in point form.
Keep it Simple: Focus on 6–8 goals.
Break Them Down: Break them down into smaller, actionable steps.
Create a Plan: Create a focused plan you can apply on a daily basis.
Pray for wisdom: Always ask God for guidance as you pursue your vision.
Grace: Give yourself grace and others if you miss a task or make a mistake, just keep getting up like Rocky Balboa ;)
Each day, these steps will bring you closer to your end goals. Always prayerfully ask God for wisdom on how to accomplish these goals.
One book that has really helped me embrace dreaming big and setting goals is The Alone Advantage by Terri Savelle Foy. Her encouragement has been such a blessing to me, I don’t agree with everything I read in the book but when I was in a slump her goal setting techniques really encouraged me to keep going. I’m sure it will inspire you to set kingdom minded goals, but always use wise discernment and pray about everything. Personally, the most precious commodity for me is time, so if something is not from God I pray to not waste any time on things that are not what God has for me.
Creative Ways to Journal: Writing and Drawing Your Vision
If you are an artistic person, I invite you to draw the vision and goals God has given you. Have fun with the process as you write or draw the things that come to mind or thoughts that come.
Remember, God gives us the desires of our hearts, meaning he gives us those ideas, when we delight in him. When we give our life to Christ He shapes us, and He gives us new desires, not worldly ones that don’t last but Godly ones that last.
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this”
(Psalms 37:4–5).
God’s Promises for Your Future
I cannot tell you all the sweet visions God has given me about my future. To be honest they scare me—they seem impossible for me. But the more I read about what God thinks about me and the more I meditate on His promises, the more I know His will for my life, it’s then I faithfully take the next step as He leads me because I know He is with me guiding me through, I know that without him I am nothing, in my weakness I am made strong because of His strength.
Here’s what I want you to know: God will do the same for you! He is not a respecter of person (Acts 10:34), meaning it doesn't matter who you are or what you’ve done. If you want a relationship with Him and you want to know His will for your life, then simply start a conversation with him.
Scriptures to Inspire Your Vision
God’s Word is full of promises to guide and encourage you:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33)”
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. (Ephesians 5:15-17)”
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)”

Take Back Dominion
God wants us to take back our God given dominion, for example what was stolen from me was my voice, years of trauma and insecurities robbed me of that, it was not until I was willing to let God all in and heal me from the inside out that I started to see who I was in Christ, His beloved daughter, and let me tell you, I need to be reminded of this often. YOU my dear are also His beloved child and He wants all of us to truly know that, so that He may be glorified through us for his Kingdom sake! He WANTS to partner with you, God created us in His image to create and build with him. If the Holy Spirit dwells within you, make room for Him to move, surrender your days, go on a fast, just run to God, you CAN trust Him for He is a good father.
God has equipped you with everything you need to walk in His vision for your life. Journaling is one tool that will help you embrace His promises and pursue the calling He has uniquely designed for you.
I am so passionate about journaling, I just know that it will bring your life so much clarity and abundance of life to the point that you then start to overflow love and grace to others. I want you to have a rich relationship with God so much that I have created this easy-to-print-out journal with promptings that will most importantly help you grow in your relationship with Him, drive you to become productive, and become intentional in all your Godly goals.
Because I love you so much, I have added a few extra bonuses; I have also included a handy water intake checklist because to be productive you must stay hydrated, and a handy daily chore reminder because if you are anything like me, sometimes we tackle way so much on our plates that we end up getting nothing done so focus on one or two chores a day.
